Four Cool Idioms To Speak About Sleep

In your conversations today, we encourage you to try these idioms, especially if they are new or unknown to you. Remember, it’s not about being perfect, it’s all about communicating!

  1. Hit the hay/sack 🛏️ – To go to bed in order to sleep.
    • After a long day at work, I can’t wait to hit the hay.
  2. Out like a light 💡 – To fall asleep very quickly.
    • As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light.
  3. Catch some Z’s 😴 – To get some sleep.
    • I need to catch some Z’s before the early morning meeting.
  4. Saw logs 🌲 – To snore loudly while sleeping.
    • He was sawing logs last night so loudly that I couldn’t get any sleep.
