In this week&#8217;s Club, other than practicing speaking English, our goal is to find and learn new vocabulary and put it to use immediately&#8230;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Important_Vocabulary_Useful_Expressions\"><\/span>Important Vocabulary &amp; Useful Expressions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>To Grow up: <\/strong><em>Intransitive verb (no object) &#8211; advance to maturity, develop into an adult &#8211; &#8220;I grew up in Dublin.&#8221;<\/em><\/li><li><strong>To Bring up\/raise a child\/children:<\/strong> <em>Look after a child until s\/he is an adult &#8211; &#8220;They raised their children in the city.&#8221;<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Grow up!: <\/strong><em>Begin to behave \/ think sensibly &#8211; &#8220;Oh grow up, Frank, stop being so silly!&#8221;<\/em><\/li><li><strong>You&#8217;re such a baby!: <\/strong><em>You are very immature \/ you are behaving like a child.<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Grown-up: <\/strong><em>Another word for &#8216;adult&#8217; &#8211; &#8220;Maria has 3 grown-up children.<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Act your age!: <\/strong><em>Another way to tell someone to stop behaving in a childish way &#8211; however, it can also be used in the opposite sense, too &#8211; &#8220;My son is so serious all the time, I wish he would act his age and play football with his friends.&#8221;<\/em><\/li><li><strong>A spring chicken: <\/strong><em>used to talk about young people, usually in the negative form &#8211; &#8220;I&#8217;m no spring chicken, but I&#8217;m quite fit!&#8221;.<\/em><\/li><li><strong>You can&#8217;t teach an old dog new tricks: <\/strong><em>the &#8216;essence&#8217; of this proverb is that you cannot make people change their ways.
